Structure & Movement

Émilie is a feminine Golden Retriever with a very pleasing combination of refinement, substance, and athleticism. She has a naturally balanced outline, with a strong topline, good body proportions, and sufficient bone to give her presence without losing her feminine quality. Her neck flows nicely into the withers, while her shoulder and upper arm provide a solid foundation through the front assembly. She has good forechest and body depth, with a well-shaped ribcage and a balanced loin.

Her rear construction is one of her notable strengths, with good stifle angulation, a developing second thigh, and appropriately positioned hocks. This complements her front assembly and contributes to an efficient, functional way of going. Émilie shows the structure to produce a smooth, flowing side gait with good extension and positive drive from behind. Her movement has the qualities we look for in a Golden that is both beautiful and capable—balanced, athletic, and economical rather than excessive.
